How to get a tax statement from VALR

You might be wondering, does VALR provide CSV tax and trade history reports? Is it even possible to get tax info and statements from VALR? The good news is, while VALR might not provide tax forms and documents, it does offer two simple ways to export transaction and trade history!

How to connect to Koinly with the VALR tax report API

On VALR

  1. Log in to your VALR account.
  2. In the top right corner, hover over your account name.
  3. From the drop down menu, select API keys. Please note, you'll need app-based two-factor authentication to create API keys.
  4. Select create a new API key.
  5. Select I acknowledge the risks.
  6. Enter a name for your API key, for example, Koinly.
  7. Under permissions, check "view access".
  8. Select authorize by email.
  9. Go to your email and select authorize API key.
  10. Enter the code from your authenticator app.
  11. Copy your API key and API secret. Please note these will not be shown to you again so be sure to copy them and store them somewhere safe.

On Koinly

  1. Sign in to Koinly and select wallets.
  2. Select add new wallet: VALR.
  3. Select setup auto sync.
  4. Paste your API key and API secret from VALR.
  5. Select secure import.

How to import your VALR tax report CSV file to Koinly

On VALR

  1. Log in to your VALR account
  2. In the top right corner, hover over your notifications.
  3. From the drop down menu, select view all transactions.
  4. Select download CSV.

On Koinly

  1. Sign in to Koinly and select Wallets.
  2. Select add new wallet: VALR.
  3. Select import from file.
  4. Upload your CSV file.
