How to Connect Guarda Wallet and Koinly

How to connect Guarda Wallet with Koinly

Guarda Wallet is a secure, multi-platform wallet offering web, desktop and mobile wallets, offering crypto investors a huge range of investment opportunities through staking, earning and trading. Whatever your Guarda Wallet investments, Koinly can help with your crypto taxes. Just connect via API or upload a CSV file - here's how.

How to connect Guarda Wallet to Koinly via API

You'll need to get your wallet address for each blockchain you interact with from Guarda Wallet- for example Bitcoin, Ethereum and Polkadot. The instructions vary a little depending on the blockchain you're connecting and whether you need to add your public address or your xpub key.

On Guarda

  1. Log into Guarda and go to wallets in the top navigation menu.
  2. In the left menu, select the blockchain you'd like to connect, for example Ethereum or Bitcoin.
  3. If you need your public address, select receive for the blockchain you'd like to connect to Koinly . If you need your xpub key, select the small cog icon at the top of the menu on the left to go to wallet management, then select private key.
  4. Copy your wallet address or xpub key.

On Koinly

  1. Log in to Koinly and go to the wallets page.
  2. Select add new wallet.
  3. Search for Guarda Wallet.
  4. Select set up auto sync.
  5. Search for the blockchain you'd like to connect, for example Ethereum or Bitcoin.
  6. Select the blockchain you want to connect.
  7. Paste your public address or xpub key.
  8. Select import.

Good to know
If you use your Guarda Wallet to interact with multiple blockchains, you'll need to get your public address or xpub key for each blockchain you interact with using Guarda Wallet and add them to Koinly by repeating the steps above for each blockchain. Make sure you do this for each blockchain you interact with using Guarda Wallet to get your complete transaction history.

How to connect Guarda Wallet to Koinly via CSV

Guarda Wallet do offer an export CSV option within their platform, however the exported file has very limited transaction data, so we recommend using the API method instead. You can however create your own custom CSV file instead if you prefer. Once you have your CSV file, here's how to upload it to Koinly.

On Koinly

  1. Sign up or login into Koinly and head to the wallets page.
  2. Add a new wallet: Guarda Wallet.
  3. Select import from file.
  4. Upload your CSV file(s).
