How to file Bitaroo taxes with Koinly

Bitaroo is a relatively new Australian crypto exchange offering low transaction and withdrawal fees that let investors, businesses, and SMSFs buy, trade, and sell Bitcoin.   1. Sign up to Koinly and choose your country (Australia) and currency (AUD)
  2. Connect Biataroo with Koinly to import all your Bitcoin trades safely and securely
  3. Koinly categorizes Bitaroo transactions into gains, losses, and income
  4. Download your crypto tax report from Koinly
  5. File your crypto taxes online with myTax or hand your report over to your accountant

How to connect Bitaroo to Koinly via CSV

You'll need your complete Bitaroo transaction history to upload to Koinly - which means you'll need several CSV files, including your trade history CSV file(s), express buy history CSV file(s), deposit history CSV file(s) and withdrawal history CSV file(s). Here's how to get each of them.

On Bitaroo

Trade history CSV file

  1. Log in to Bitaroo.
  2. In the top right corner, select account.
  3. From the top navigation menu, select reports.
  4. Select trade history from the new menu at the top.
  5. Bitaroo provides individual CSV files for the previous 3 financial years. You can find these in the drop down menu underneath financial year. You'll need your complete trade history from Bitaroo to upload to Koinly - so make sure you download as many trade history CSV files as you need to to cover your complete Bitaroo transaction history. You can do this by selecting the financial year from the drop down menu, then selecting the export icon next to it.

Express buy history CSV file

  1. Log in to Bitaroo.
  2. In the top right corner, select account.
  3. From the top navigation menu, select reports.
  4. Select express buy history from the new menu at the top.
  5. Bitaroo provides individual CSV files for the previous 3 financial years. You can find these in the drop down menu underneath financial year. You'll need your complete express buy history from Bitaroo to upload to Koinly - so make sure you download as many express buy history CSV files as you need to to cover your complete Bitaroo transaction history. You can do this by selecting the financial year from the drop down menu, then selecting the export icon next to it.

Deposit history CSV file

  1. Log in to Bitaroo.
  2. In the top right corner, select account.
  3. From the top navigation menu, select reports.
  4. Select deposit history from the new menu at the top.
  5. Bitaroo provides individual CSV files for the previous 3 financial years. You can find these in the drop down menu underneath financial year. You'll need your complete deposit history from Bitaroo to upload to Koinly - so make sure you download as many deposit history CSV files as you need to to cover your complete Bitaroo transaction history. You can do this by selecting the financial year from the drop down menu, then selecting the export icon next to it.

Withdrawal history CSV file

  1. Log in to Bitaroo.
  2. In the top right corner, select account.
  3. From the top navigation menu, select reports.
  4. Select withdrawal history from the new menu at the top.
  5. Bitaroo provides individual CSV files for the previous 3 financial years. You can find these in the drop down menu underneath financial year. You'll need your complete withdrawal history from Bitaroo to upload to Koinly - so make sure you download as many withdrawal history CSV files as you need to to cover your complete Bitaroo transaction history. You can do this by selecting the financial year from the drop down menu, then selecting the export icon next to it.

Once you have all your Bitaroo CSV files... here's how to upload them to Koinly.

On Koinly

  1. Sign up or login into Koinly and head to wallets.
  2. Add a new wallet: Bitaroo.
  3. Select import from file.
  4. Upload your CSV files.

Important
Remember, you'll need your complete Bitaroo transaction history - however many CSV files that may be! This ensures Koinly can identify the cost basis of your Bitcoin correctly, and calculate your short-term and long-term capital gains correctly.
