How to do your HyperEVM taxes with Koinly
HyperEVM is the Ethereum-compatible version of the popular Hyperliquid chain. But if you have HyperEVM transactions, some of them may be taxable. Koinly can help you automatically calculate your HyperEVM taxes. It just needs your transaction history. Here's how to import it via API.
Follow these steps to sync your HyperEVM data automatically to Koinly:
- Open your HyperEVM wallet app
- Locate and copy your public address or key
On Koinly:
- Create a free account on Koinly
- Complete onboarding until you get to the Wallets page and find HyperEVM in the list
- Select API > Paste the public address/key you copied above in the appropriate box
- Hit Import and wait for Koinly to sync your data. This can take a few minutes
- Review your transactions on the Transactions page to ensure everything is tagged correctly and no missing data
- Go to the Tax Reports page to view your tax liability!

FAQs
What is HyperEVM?
HyperEVM is a high-performance, Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible execution engine designed to significantly improve the speed and scalability of smart contract execution, particularly in Layer 2 and modular blockchain environments. It maintains full compatibility with Ethereum smart contracts and tooling while leveraging advanced optimization techniques such as just-in-time (JIT) or ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation, parallel processing, and efficient state management. HyperEVM is often used in rollups and appchains to deliver faster transaction throughput and lower fees without sacrificing the security and decentralization of the Ethereum ecosystem. Its modular and extensible architecture makes it ideal for developers building scalable dApps or custom blockchain networks that require Ethereum compatibility with enhanced performance.
Is HyperEVM safe?
HyperEVM can be considered safe if it adheres strictly to Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) specifications and has undergone thorough testing and security audits. Its safety depends on the specific implementation and how rigorously it has been verified for correctness, particularly because performance enhancements such as just-in-time compilation or parallel execution can introduce new risks. If the project using HyperEVM is open-source, actively maintained, and supported by a credible team with clear documentation and audit reports, it is more likely to be reliable. However, as with any emerging blockchain technology, especially those aiming to improve performance, careful evaluation is necessary before deploying it in production or high-value systems.
Does HyperEVM provide tax documents?
No, HyperEVM doesn't provide users with tax documents. However, you can use a crypto tax calculator that supports HyperEVM (like Koinly). Just add your public address, and Koinly will import your transaction history and calculate your gains, losses, income, and more.
