FAQs
What is Chiliz?
Chiliz is a blockchain platform designed to power fan engagement in sports and entertainment. It enables sports clubs and organizations to issue Fan Tokens (digital assets that let supporters vote in club polls), access exclusive rewards, and participate more actively in their favorite teams. The ecosystem runs on the CHZ token, used to buy and trade Fan Tokens on Socios, Chiliz’s main fan-engagement app. Built on its own EVM-compatible blockchain using a Proof-of-Staked-Authority consensus model, Chiliz aims to create a decentralized yet user-friendly way for fans and clubs to connect. While it opens new revenue and interaction opportunities, Fan Tokens remain speculative assets without ownership rights in the clubs themselves.
Is Chiliz safe?
The Chiliz Chain is EVM-compatible, runs a PoSA validator set (11 validators with slashing/double-sign detection), and its core contracts/bridge/governance have been audited (e.g., Halborn). Socios.com, the main app, has MFSA authorization in Malta and is positioning for MiCA in the EU; it also ships wallet features like passkeys/recovery kits. That said, you still face typical crypto risks, including price volatility, smart-contract bugs, bridge/custody, and phishing risks, so DYOR and practice good opsec.
Does Chiliz provide tax documents?
No, Chiliz doesn't provide tax forms for users, but you can use a crypto tax calculator like Koinly to generate the forms you need. Just import your Chiliz transaction history automatically via API by adding your public address, and Koinly will calculate your gains, losses, income, and more, as well as generate your crypto tax reports.
