How to do your Backpack Exchange taxes with Koinly

Follow these steps to download your Backpack Exchange data:

Files needed

  1. Deposits
  2. Withdrawals
  3. Trades (Fills)
  4. Position history (Futures)


Subaccounts

If you have any subaccounts on Backpack, download the same set of files and import them to the same Koinly wallet as your main account (one wallet in Koinly for the main account and subaccounts)

On Koinly:

  1. Create a free account on Koinly
  2. Complete onboarding until you get to the Wallets page and find Backpack Exchange in the list
  3. Click on it and select "File import" in the import options screen
  4. Upload the files you downloaded from Backpack Exchange (one at a time) and click on Import
  5. Review your transactions on the Transactions page to ensure everything is tagged correctly and no missing data
  6. Go to the Tax Reports page to view your tax liability!
