How to file your SEI taxes with Koinly

SEI is a blockchain designed specifically for high-speed processing, making it ideal for scaling decentralized finance (DeFi) applications including trading platforms, dexes, NFT marketplaces, and GameFi. But your SEI transactions may come with a tax bill. Don't worry, Koinly can help. Here's how.

Follow these steps to sync your SEI data automatically to Koinly:

Sync your SEI wallet using your public key ("receive" address)


Your address may be in:

  • cosmos format (starts with sei***)
  • or evm format (starts with 0x***)

On Koinly:

  1. Create a free account on Koinly
  2. Complete onboarding until you get to the Wallets page and find SEI in the list
  3. Select API > Paste the public address/key you copied above in the appropriate box
  4. Hit Import and wait for Koinly to sync your data. This can take a few minutes
  5. Review your transactions on the Transactions page to ensure everything is tagged correctly and no missing data
  6. Go to the Tax Reports page to view your tax liability!
Notes / Limitations

ℹ️ Incomplete data

SEI api sync may return incomplete results (mainly internal transfers can be missing). Triggering a resync often helps


⚠️ Not supported

Some transactions are not supported by this API and need to be added manually:

  • Liquidity providing (LPing)
  • Restaked rewards
