FAQs
What is Plasma?
Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain, purpose-built for faster and lower-cost stablecoin transactions by enabling higher-throughput and fee-free USDT transfers. Its features include stablecoin-native contracts, full EVM compatibility, and a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.
XPL is Plasma's native token, used to secure the network through staking, governance, and to facilitate transactions.
Is Plasma safe?
Plasma is considered relatively safe. It works with a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism known as PlasmaBFT, which requires a 'supermajority' of validators to act honestly and reach an agreement even if malicious nodes send conflicting information. They also have a Bitcoin trust-minimized bridge, which allows the flow of BTC and is verified by a decentralized network of validators. However, Plasma is still new. It only launched in late 2025, and its value dropped significantly after its early momentum. It's important to DOYR and ensure you're following best security practices when making any investments.
Does Plasma provide tax documents?
Plasma does not provide tax documents. If you're looking to report your crypto taxes, upload your transaction history to a tax calculator like Koinly. Koinly can calculate your taxes for you, and when you're ready, you can generate specialized tax reports.
