How to do your MegaETH taxes with Koinly
MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain, designed to support real-time applications and aiming for transaction processing speeds (TPS) of over 100,000.
If you have MegaETH transactions, it's likely you have a tax bill. Koinly can calculate MegaETH taxes with just your transaction history. Here's how to import it.
Follow these steps to sync your MegaETH (MEGA) data automatically to Koinly:
- Open your MegaETH (MEGA) wallet app
- Locate and copy your public address or key
On Koinly:
- Create a free account on Koinly
- Complete onboarding until you get to the Wallets page and find MegaETH (MEGA) in the list
- Select API > Paste the public address/key you copied above in the appropriate box
- Hit Import and wait for Koinly to sync your data. This can take a few minutes
- Review your transactions on the Transactions page to ensure everything is tagged correctly and no missing data
- Go to the Tax Reports page to view your tax liability!

FAQs
What is MegaETH?
MegaETH is an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain, built for real-time applications, aiming for transaction processing speeds (TPS) of 100,000 and 10 millisecond block times. Its goal is to reach Web-2 level performance whilst maintaining EVM compatibility.
Is MegaETH safe?
MegaETH is relatively new, which can raise concerns about its security. It does have security measures in place; as a Layer-2 blockchain, it inherits security from Ethereum, and it uses stateless validation, which relies on mathematical proof and increases decentralization, making it harder for a small group to control the network. However, it's always recommended you DOYR on the best security practices to keep your assets safe, such as storing large amounts offline, in a cold wallet, especially when choosing to trade on a new blockchain.
Does MegaETH provide tax documents?
No, MegaETH doesn't issue tax documents. However, you can use a tax calculator like Koinly to calculate your gains, losses, and income, and produce tax reports, by syncing your MegaETH read-only transaction history.
