How to get free money on Cash App

There are a lot of scams out there, but here are 8 legitimate methods to get free money on Cash App.

1. Refer friends to Cash App and get paid with the Cash App referral program

One of the easiest ways to get free money on Cash App is to spread the joy by joining its referral program. Whenever someone signs up for Cash App using your unique link or code and fulfills the program requirements, both of you will get free money.

The bonus for the Cash App referral program varies depending on the current promotion but usually sits between $5 to $15.

2. Sign up for Cash App and get a bonus

Cash App frequently offers sign-up bonuses for new users, so if you don’t have a Cash App account yet, one of the quickest ways to get free money with Cash App is to create an account!

Depending on when you sign up, the bonus will vary as promotions change, but at the time of writing, you can get up to $25 as a signup bonus.

3. Shop and earn with Cash App Boosts

Cashback with Cash App is known as Cash App Boosts. This section of the app has all the exclusive cashback offers currently active, and it’s regularly updated so make sure to keep an eye out for any new offers.

You’ll need a Cash Card to be eligible for Cash App Boosts. But once you have one, you’ll be able to get free money in return for spending with your Cash Card. You can find and activate existing cashback offers by:

  • Open Cash App and go to the Cash Card tab

  • Select the Boosts icon

  • Look through the offers and select add boost to activate relevant offers

4. Get free Bitcoin with Boost

Want free Bitcoin? Bitcoin Boost lets you earn Bitcoin rewards whenever you spend using your Cash Card. Your Bitcoin rewards will be added straight to your Cash App Bitcoin balance.

To activate Bitcoin Boost, go to the Boosts section in Cash App and select Bitcoin Boost to add it to your account. You’ll be able to see eligible merchants for Bitcoin cashback in your app. And of course, you can either opt to hold your Bitcoin or sell it for cash, all within your Cash App account. Remember, if you sell Bitcoin for cash - you may be in for a tax bill. 5. Answer a survey to get free cash

Cash App loves to get to know its customers better, and achieves this by doing regular surveys, and Cash App customers are rewarded for taking part with rewards.

You can keep an eye out for notifications within Cash App to see when surveys are running. If there is, Cash App will provide easy instructions on how to follow the survey, and once you’ve completed it, you’ll get a cash reward straight to your Cash App balance.

Again, the rewards for Cash App surveys vary depending on the current promotion, but previous surveys have paid up to $5 for just a couple of minutes of your time.

6. Get a Cash App giveaway

Surveys and cashback aren’t the only promotions Cash App runs. Another opportunity to try and get free cash with Cash App is to take part in giveaways in the app. These promotional events run fairly regularly and let Cash App customers win cash prizes or other rewards.

A word of warning though - one quick search of Cash App giveaways will bring up hundreds, if not thousands of scams. Legitimate giveaways organized by Cash App will be announced in the app, on Cash App’s official social media accounts, or on their website. Do not click links or provide personal data if you’re unsure whether a giveaway is legitimate.

7. Set up direct deposits for exclusive offers

Customers who set up direct deposits with Cash App will receive exclusive offers (in the form of Boosts). These cashback offers and discounts can be seriously lucrative, so make sure to keep an eye out for promotional offers in the app once you’ve set up your direct deposit.

8. ATM fee reimbursements

We all hate ATM fees - but not with a Cash Card. Depending on your location and your ATM provider, Cash App often reimburses ATM fees, giving you back money that otherwise would’ve gone to the ATM provider.

You can check within the app for fee-free ATMs, and to be eligible for reimbursement you’ll need to deposit more than $300 in direct deposits in a month.
